PSA alone graded more than 11 million TCG cards in 2025, most of them Pokémon, per Sports Illustrated’s coverage of GemRate data. Consolidation followed the volume: Collectors, PSA’s parent, closed its Beckett acquisition in December 2025 and now holds roughly 80% of grading market share, which drew a class action seeking to unwind the deal, per Card Atlas.

Digital Trading Card Game Market Revenue: Pokémon TCG Pocket

AppMagic estimates, published via GameDev Reports and MobileGamer.biz, put Pokémon TCG Pocket at $141.4 million in its first full month (November 2024, net of store fees), roughly $1.25 billion in its first 12 months, and $1.49 billion lifetime through Q1 2026.

PokéBeach reports Pocket out-earned Pokémon GO’s debut year by roughly $245 million, making it the highest-grossing first year of any Pokémon mobile app by AppMagic’s count. Note the two counting methods: AppMagic tracks storefront installs and reports a lower download total than the publisher’s own 150 million figure. Its monetisation pattern sits alongside what shows up in gacha game spending data and in player numbers for digital card games like Marvel Snap.

Digital did not replace physical here. PokéBeach ties Pocket’s October 2024 launch to the sellouts of Surging Sparks and Prismatic Evolutions that followed.

Trading Card Game Market Data by Region: Japan and eBay

Bandai Namco’s Toys and Hobby segment recorded ¥673.9 billion (about $4.26 billion) in fiscal 2026, though that segment also covers Gunpla, capsule toys and confectionery, so it reads as an upper bound rather than a TCG figure.

eBay named collectibles as the largest single contributor to its Q4 2025 GMV growth, with trading cards as the driver. Within that, eBay said Pokémon decelerated against tough year-ago comparisons while the rest of the collectible card game category kept growing and sports cards accelerated, the same divergence GemRate’s data picked up.
