1942 is a vertical scrolling shooter developed and published by Capcom for the NES, ported from the 1984 arcade original and the first game in the 194X series. Players fly a P-38 “Super Ace” over the Pacific in World War II, shooting down waves of enemy planes across 32 stages and using a limited loop-the-loop roll to dodge fire and bosses.
