About Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Game Freak developed Pokémon Legends: Z-A, released October 16, 2025 by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It is an action role-playing game set entirely in Lumiose City.

Battles run in real time. Positioning, movement, and timing decide fights, and players build Mega Energy to trigger Mega Evolution mid-combat. Wild Pokémon can enter a hostile Rogue Mega Evolution state.

Z-A Royale is the nighttime ranked tournament, where trainers climb from Rank Z to Rank A through promotion battles. Battle Club supports up to four players in Link Battles or Ranked Battles for rank points and Mega Stones. Nintendo Switch Online is required, the same way it is for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 3. Fans of Pokémon GO can transfer creatures in through Pokémon HOME.
