What Is Driving Gaming Monitor Demand?
Omdia ties 2025 momentum to models above 120Hz, faster response times and larger screens. Senior Principal Analyst Hidetoshi Himuro said higher-refresh monitors followed the arrival of NVIDIA RTX 50-series graphics cards.
Senior Analyst Benjamin Tan linked esports demand to 240Hz to 360Hz monitors with response times of 1ms or lower. Viewing of competitive play is tracked separately in these Twitch audience figures.
Omdia expects dual-mode monitors, which switch between settings such as 4K at 240Hz and 1080p at 480Hz, to grow by double digits in 2026.
The firm lists high OLED panel costs, burn-in concerns and supply-chain volatility as limits on wider adoption.

ASUS led both periods, with 21.6% of 2025 shipments and 23.1% in 2Q26.
Samsung fell from 19.3% to 13.1%, a decline TrendForce attributes to its gradual withdrawal from the Chinese market. MSI sat 0.3 points behind at 12.8%.
AOC entered the 2Q26 top five at 8.6%. Dell, fifth for 2025 at 9.9%, was not among the quarter’s top five, and the two periods compared are one full year and one quarter.
