Ah, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out. A classic NES game that was eventually replaced (in name and final fight only) by Punch-Out due to Mike Tyson going to prison, is still a great game. Here we start by defeating the first contender, Glass Joe. Yes, anybody can beat Glass Joe, but he is still the first fight of the game.

Ronald-the scary ass clown-McDonald and his bumbling sidekicks were common place in advertising, packaging and toys. Sometimes you’d even find them in McDonald’s joints, crashing kids birthday parties and generally scaring the living shit out of the kids (well Ronald anyway). It isnt a surprise they ventured into gaming, what is surprise, is that it isn’t a bad game!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a notoriously rock hard game. Well I’m not going to argue, this took me many attempts to finish. If you know what you’re doing then making it to the Technodrome really isnt as hard as you might think though.
As a kid I wished I had an outlet to access Godzilla, alas I was left only with my imagination.
Starting a game you’ll be presented with a chessboard. You control Godzilla & Mothra. You can move each monster a set number of squares and the different hexagons you land on determines the different battle stages you enter. When the action begins is where the game falls down!
While Donkey Kong is nothing but charming, it holds more in common with a generation of games that preceded it on Atari systems than it does with what followed on the NES, a period in gaming driven by high scores not end-screens. By the time you can make a cup of tea, you could have complete this. Not much challenge but a joy to play regardless.
I’m not gonna explain the rules, if you’re unsure why not ask Mario? He’s the umpire, looks like he may have eaten a few extra mushrooms as he’s looking a little porky even for him. Maybe he’s still coming down from his last shroom, hence why he keeps calling IN on some of shots that are clearly OUT. Oh well, I’m not gonna tell him he ‘cannot be serious’, he might have a Star in his pocket!
Konami’s Castlevania trilogy is classic gaming personified! Truly great action platforming adventures controlling various incarnations of the Belmont family as they defeat various incarnations of Dracula and the evil hordes of Hell.
