After Burner

After Burner is a third-person rail shooter released by Sega in 1987. You pilot an F-14 Thunder Cat fighter jet across 18 stages, shooting down enemy aircraft with machine guns and heat-seeking missiles. Mid-air refueling breaks up the action between combat zones. The game is known for its fast pace and hydraulic sit-down arcade cabinet.

How To Play After Burner

Arrow keys move the jet across the screen. Z fires the machine gun. X launches missiles. C controls the throttle to speed up or slow down. Enter starts the game and Shift inserts a coin. Controls can be remapped in the emulator settings if you prefer a different layout or want to use a gamepad.
