With the rapid growth of AI and no foreseen slowdown coming any time soon, Google has decided to offer a free online “Machine Learning Crash Course” or MLCC.
On the official company blog, Google Technical Program Manager Zuri Kemp posted, “AI can solve complex problems and has the potential to transform entire industries, which means it’s crucial that AI reflect a diverse range of human perspectives and needs.
That’s why part of Google AI’s mission is to help anyone interested in machine learning succeed—from researchers, to developers and companies, to students.”
Kemp’s post also introduces us to the “Learn With Google AI” website. The site is designed as a resource center to help with AI.
“Whether you’re just learning to code or you’re a seasoned machine learning practitioner, you’ll find information and exercises in this resource center to help you develop your skills and advance your projects.”
It is through the Learn With Google AI website that users will be able to access the free MLCC course.
Kemp explains, “Our engineering education team originally developed this fast-paced, practical introduction to ML fundamentals for Googlers.
So far, more than 18,000 Googlers have enrolled in MLCC, applying lessons from the course to enhance camera calibration for Daydream devices, build virtual reality for Google Earth, and improve streaming quality at YouTube. MLCC’s success at Google inspired us to make it available to everyone.”
The free machine learning course is an estimated 15 hours long and geared towards people who are new to AI and machine learning.
Added Kemp, “There’s more to come from Learn with Google AI, including additional courses and documentation. We’re excited to help everyone learn more about AI.”
