PEAK cross-platform guide showing supported PC systems, Steam Deck compatibility, planned console crossplay, and cross-save limitations in 2026.

Is PEAK Cross Platform in 2026?

No. PEAK runs only on Windows PC through Steam. Landfall and Aggro Crab confirmed console versions with crossplay, but none have launched.

PEAK came out on June 16, 2025, and passed 10 million copies sold by mid-August that year. Up to four players climb together, all through Steam.

TL;DR – PEAK Crossplay Status

Crossplay: Steam only

Consoles: Not released

Mobile: Not available

Cross-save: Not supported

Cross-generation: PEAK has no console versions yet, so backward compatibility does not apply.

Crossplay vs Cross-Platform vs Cross-Save In PEAK

These three terms get mixed up a lot. For PEAK, the answers look like this:

FeatureSupported
Cross-platform availabilityNo, Steam only
CrossplayPlanned for consoles
Cross-saveNo

Cross-platform availability means a game sells on more than one system. PEAK sells on Steam alone, with a list price of $7.99.

Crossplay is where the news sits. The official PEAK FAQ says console buyers will play with “the existing Steam community, as well as any other console platforms.”

Cross-save has no announcement. Landfall has not said whether console progress will link to Steam accounts.

Which Platforms Can Play PEAK Together?

Here’s how multiplayer actually works in PEAK:

Platform pairingCrossplay
PC / Mac / Linux✔ Yes (Windows and Steam Deck, no native Mac build)
PC ↔ ConsoleNo, confirmed for later
PlayStation ↔ XboxNo
Xbox ↔ SwitchNo
MobileNo multiplayer, no mobile version

PEAK has no matchmaking. One player hosts, and up to three Steam friends join by invite.

Sessions run through Photon relay servers. Landfall’s FAQ says that setup will let console players join Steam lobbies once the ports ship.

Steam Deck owners are covered now. Valve marked PEAK as Steam Deck Verified in August 2025, GamingOnLinux reported.

Console timing is still open. The Escapist reported that Landfall plans to share console details later in 2026, and Gaming Bible listed PS5, Xbox and Switch 2 as likely targets.

The Steam player base is still large. PEAK recorded 19,852 concurrent players on September 15, 2026, per our PEAK player count tracker.

That number ranked 71st on Valve’s chart. The Final Ascent update, released August 11, 2026, drove the rebound, and our Steam concurrent user data shows where that sits.

What Is The Best Platform For PEAK?

Windows PC

Native build, mods, Steam invites

Steam Deck

Verified, portable

Windows Handhelds

Native Windows, same lobbies

Consoles

Crossplay promised, no date

Windows PC is the only native home for PEAK, and PC gaming figures explain why indie studios start there. Handheld players can use a Steam Deck or an Asus ROG Ally. Console players still have to wait.

FAQs

Will PEAK Ever Be Cross Platform?

Yes, based on current plans. Landfall confirmed console ports with crossplay to Steam. As of September 2026, no release date or final platform list has been announced.

Is PEAK cross platform between PC and Xbox?

Not yet. PEAK has no Xbox version in 2026. Landfall says console players will join Steam lobbies. Our crossplay adoption stats show how common that setup has become.

Is there PEAK Switch PC crossplay?

No. PEAK is not on Switch or Switch 2. Gaming Bible named Switch 2 as a possible port, but Landfall has not confirmed it.

Is PEAK co-op cross platform?

No, PEAK co-op works only between Steam players for now. Four scouts can climb together through friend invites. Overcooked 2 is an example of co-op that already spans consoles.

Can you play PEAK on Mac or Linux?

Not natively. Steam lists Windows 10 and 11 only. Linux and Steam Deck players run PEAK through Valve’s Proton layer, while Mac owners need third-party workarounds.
