How Many People Are Playing Diablo 4 Right Now?

Steam Charts showed 39,916 concurrent Steam players at the September 24, 2026 check. The highest reading over the previous 24 hours was 43,663.

SteamDB listed a 24-hour peak of 43,728 at its own update. Both readings are snapshots taken at writing time, not a self-updating counter.

Only Steam sessions count toward these numbers. Battle.net, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch 2 players are left out, the same Steam-only limit that applies on our Path of Exile 2 player tracker.

SteamDB ranked Diablo 4 57th in Steam daily active users and 14th in global top sellers at the September 24, 2026 check. The Steam hub had 181,034 followers.

Season 15, Switch 2 and a Free Trial: Diablo 4 in September 2026

Blizzard launched Season of Hell’s Legacy on September 15, 2026, as part of the series’ 30th anniversary. The Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection reached Nintendo Switch 2 the same day.

Console Monster reported that the Switch 2 version supports cross-play and cross-progression. Platform rules are covered in our Diablo 4 crossplay guide.

Diablo 3 reached the original Switch on November 2, 2018, and never gained crossplay, as our Diablo 3 cross-platform breakdown shows.

On Steam, Blizzard made the base game free until September 21 at 10 a.m. PT. The trial opened every class and capped progression at level 30.

Steam Charts put the 30-day average at 13,077.58 players on September 24, 2026, up 133.44% on August. The 30-day peak reached 62,488.

August 2026 averaged 5,602.14 players with a 12,872 peak. That was the last full month of Season of Death Awakening.

May 2026 posted the highest average of the last 12 completed months at 32,141.21 players. It was the first full month after Lord of Hatred launched on April 28.

August 2026 was the low point at 5,602.14. February 2026 had the smallest monthly peak at 10,898.

SteamDB records the all-time Steam peak as 64,518 concurrent players on May 3, 2026. Steam Charts logs the May 2026 peak slightly lower, at 63,808.

The two trackers often publish different peaks for the same month, a gap also visible on the Elden Ring Steam tracker.

Steam data starts on October 17, 2023, four months after the June 5, 2023 launch on Battle.net and consoles. The launch month sits outside every Steam series.

Lowest Diablo 4 Player Count on Steam

April 2024 recorded the lowest monthly average at 3,892.01 players. March 2024 had the lowest monthly peak at 8,814.

12 Million Players and $666 Million: Blizzard’s Own Diablo 4 Numbers

Rod Fergusson, Blizzard’s general manager for Diablo, said at Gamescom in August 2023 that Diablo 4 had passed 12 million players. Blizzard did not give a copies-sold figure alongside it.

A since-deleted LinkedIn profile of Blizzard senior product manager Harrison Froeschke put lifetime revenue above $1 billion. It credited over $150 million to shop purchases.

Neither the Blizzard statements nor the Steam trackers cited here break players out by country. Ahrefs search volume shows where people search for the game, which is a separate measurement from playing it.

The United States leads with an estimated 150,000 monthly searches for “diablo 4”. Germany follows at 57,000 and Brazil at 38,000.

Canada ranks sixth at 26,000. A published count of how many people play Diablo 4 in North America does not exist in these sources.
